iApprove: GoodSearch.

December 11, 2008

Search engines are very handy little things.  With just a few keystrokes, they allow us to search nearly the entire Internet for pages on the topic we want.  Without search engines, we would have to find relevant websites by word-of-mouth, and that would just be really, really messy.

But GoodSearch takes search engines beyond the typical.  Powered by Yahoo!, GoodSearch enables you to input the name of your favorite charity and earn money for said charity by searching through their engine.  It’s only a penny a day, but when you do as much research as I do it adds up.

Another nice thing is that GoodSearch isn’t a mainstream engine, it’s not a likely target for programmers — the ones who write things like the adware that’s taken over our Google toolbar.  Which means that I can search there without getting links to Monster Marketplace.
